Cory Joseph Clark on Primetime
On Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 4pm PST singer/songwriter Cory Joseph Clark is our guest on Swoop’s World Primetime. After Cory we’ll have another segment of Gamers, plus odd news of the day and more.
Cory Joseph Clark is part songwriter, part performer, part guitar player, part singer, part artist, part hired gun, part entrepreneur, and all dreamer.
Based out of Long Beach California, Clark has released two solo EPs, and two EPs with his band Sleepless Me.
His song “Throwing Stones” was nominated for a Hollywood Music In Media Award, he was nominated two years in a row as “Best Male Performer” by SoCal Acoustic Music Competition, and his older band Sleepless Me won “Best Alternative Band” at the 2008 Orange County Music Awards.
Playing in bands and with indie and label solo artists his whole life as a guitar/vocal sideman, music has taken him on tours of the the US and abroad. But Clark is always focusing on his own music as the roots of his expression.
In 2011 after releasing his EP “Throwing Stones”, he started a local Long Beach weekly singer/songwriter showcase called THE HUM HOUSE. He performs a set each week, and books two other talented artists to play sets as well from all over Southern California. The Hum House just started releasing a podcast as well which can be found on iTunes which features interviews from the artist as well as some live recordings from each show.
Playing weekly at The Hum House has given Clark the personal goal of writing much more than ever before. Writing is so important to him, that in 2011 he has committed to writing one song per week, and usually trying it out at the show that week.
The idea is that at the end of the year Clark will have a total of 53+ songs to choose from to record his next album.
